Video: NoTube’s approach to TV recommendations

Michele recently described the latest NoTube demo for TV recommendations, which was shown at the Project Review in early May. Since then we’ve made a video of the demo, which explains how the project has integrated three different approaches to filtering video content in an end-user interface. Our aim is to include suggestions for appealing new content, which the viewer would probably not have found otherwise.

    Just wanted to mention that the ‘standard statistical collaborative filtering’ techniques component mentioned at 05:25 is built using Apache’s excellent Mahout toolkit: http://mahout.apache.org/
